Hip hop Community Enugu was founded by Valentine Okochi aka Books, another multi-talented Nigerian who has spent several years trying to develop the art in the eastern part of the country. Books, record producer and lyricist was also a member of Enugu's renowned underground Hip hop squad 'DOBZ' which featured acts like the amazing Kaynay Drenco and the U.S based rap artiste Chido Ezeilo aka Zeilo, a final year student of Electrical/Computer Engineering Department, Purdue University Indiana.

The Movement exists to help bring together talented Hip hop acts within and outside the coal city for the successive development of the culture in the state and its environs. Already, Enugu has contributed a lot to the Nigerian Entertainment Industry with the infusion of artistes like Nigga Raw, Resonance, Obiwon, Ill Bliss aka Dat Ibo Boy, Nnenna(The female singer on the CRY joint by Modenine), Rxd, Tuface Idibia(who attended the institute of management and technology Enugu), Ruffman(Streetmonks), Mekoyo, Fecko aka Rap Logic, Waje(Female Singer on PSquare's DO ME joint), Dekumzy and many more.
